The FLIR FC-Series AI-R is a radiometric thermal AI camera that detects hot spots and intruders with one device. Its 640 × 512 sensor measures object temperature while DNN analytics classify humans and vehicles — and a vehicle exclusion mode suppresses false temperature alarms from hot exhaust pipes and machinery.

Detect the threat. Measure the heat.
-
RADIOMETRIC TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
Measure object temperature from −40 °C to 160 °C in high gain mode and up to 380 °C in low gain mode, with ±5 °C accuracy below 100 °C — so hot spots and developing faults are quantified, not just seen.
-
SUPPRESS FALSE TEMPERATURE ALARMS
Vehicle exclusion mode removes the nuisance alarms that hot exhaust pipes and machinery normally cause, keeping temperature alarms meaningful in vehicle-accessible areas.
-
CLASSIFY WITH DNN ANALYTICS
Robust deep neural network analytics reliably recognise humans and vehicles and differentiate genuine threats from nuisance movement and deliberate deception attempts.
-
LOCATE AND HAND OFF
Target geolocation gives operators situational awareness and supports precise hand-off to a PTZ device for continuous tracking.
Four thermal optic options
Choose the field of view around site geometry, target size and required detection distance. GoThermal can specify the lens and set up the temperature alarm rules for your site.
| Model | Field of view | Focal length | f-number |
|---|---|---|---|
| FC-669 AI-R | 69° × 56° | 9 mm | f/1.4 |
| FC-644 AI-R | 44° × 36° | 13 mm | f/1.0 |
| FC-625 AI-R | 25° × 18° | 25 mm | f/1.1 |
| FC-617 AI-R | 17° × 14° | 35 mm | f/1.1 |
One camera for fire risk and perimeter security
The FC-Series AI-R suits hot-spot and early fire detection in waste and recycling yards, coal and ore stockpiles, plant rooms and storage areas, alongside perimeter protection of the same site. IP66 and IP67 protection, IK10 vandal resistance, MIL-STD 810F de-icing and a −40 °C to 70 °C cold-start rating cover demanding outdoor installations.
It is an early-warning and monitoring component. It does not replace certified fire detection, alarm or suppression systems, and it should be integrated into a professionally designed fire-risk strategy.

Frequently asked questions
What does radiometric mean in practice?
The camera reports an actual temperature value for each pixel in a region, not just a thermal image. That lets alarm rules and inspections be based on measured temperature and rate of change.
Can it do fire detection and security at the same time?
Yes. Radiometric hot-spot monitoring, DNN human and vehicle classification and target geolocation run on the same camera. Final alarm logic and integration must be engineered for the specific site and risk profile.
Is it the same as the FC-Series AI?
They share the same housing and 640 × 512 detector. The FC-Series AI-R adds radiometric temperature measurement and vehicle exclusion mode. If you only need intrusion detection, the FC-Series AI is the lower-cost option.
Which lens should I choose?
It depends on target size, the distance at which you need to detect and classify, and the width of scene. GoThermal can recommend a configuration from a site plan and your detection objectives.
Does it replace a certified fire-detection system?
No. It is an early-warning and monitoring device. It supports — but does not replace — required certified detection, alarm and suppression systems.
